The BALL Engineer Hydrocarbon EOD DM3200A-S1C-BK is a men’s watch from the Engineer Hydrocarbon EOD collection, featuring a 42mm titanium case with a black dial and a unidirectional rotating stainless steel bezel. The dial combines baton-shaped hour markers with Arabic Numerals at 6, 9 and 12 o’clock, all equipped with micro gas tubes for night-time visibility. The automatic BALL RR1101-CSL movement provides the hours, minutes, sweep seconds and magnified date display, with COSC chronometer certification and protection against magnetic fields up to 1,000 Gauss. Anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the dial, while the titanium and stainless steel bracelet completes the watch and 300-metre water resistance supports diving.
EOD stands for Explosive Ordnance Disposal, referring to specialist military teams responsible for identifying, assessing, recovering and disposing of explosive hazards. The BALL Engineer Hydrocarbon EOD was developed in conjunction with the United States Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit, with the design reflecting the demanding environments in which EOD personnel operate on land and underwater. The caseback carries an embossed Explosive Ordnance Disposal badge, providing a direct connection to the EOD designation and the watch's military association.
Black Dial with Micro Gas Tubes and Magnified Date
The black dial features baton-shaped hour markers fitted with micro gas tubes, alongside luminous Arabic Numerals at 6, 9 and 12 o’clock. Micro gas tubes are also incorporated into the hour, minute and seconds hands and the bezel insert, providing continuous illumination for reading the time in low-light conditions. The magnified date display adds a calendar function, while the unidirectional rotating bezel provides a count-up scale for elapsed-time measurement.
BALL RR1101-CSL Automatic Chronometer Movement
The BALL RR1101-CSL is an automatic mechanical movement with COSC chronometer certification. It provides the hours, minutes, sweep seconds and magnified date functions and incorporates SpringLOCK and SpringSEAL anti-shock systems. The movement is protected against magnetic fields up to 1,000 Gauss and is designed to withstand a 10-metre free fall, equivalent to 50,000Gs of shock resistance.
Titanium Case, EOD Caseback and Titanium and Stainless Steel Bracelet
The 42mm round titanium case measures 13.7mm in thickness, with a 21mm lug width and 53.2mm lug-to-lug measurement. The stainless steel unidirectional rotating bezel features a micro gas tube insert, while the special screwed-in crown protection cap adds protection to the crown. The caseback carries an embossed Explosive Ordnance Disposal badge, directly referencing the EOD designation and the watch’s purpose-built connection to US Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal. The titanium and stainless steel bracelet is secured with a folding buckle and extension system, while anti-reflective sapphire crystal covers the dial and 300-metre water resistance supports diving.
